Works in Miniature
In recent years, museum & gallery exhibits focusing on artwork in miniature have grown increasingly popular and there is little wonder as to why. Small works are often more approachable, both in terms of affordability and comprehension. This year, Gallery KH is thrilled to present our first annual exhibition of works completed in miniature. This show will open alongside Henry Coe: Plein Air Perspective and will run during the same time period. The prices on works in this show range from $550-$3000 making these pieces accessible for first time buyers and seasoned collectors alike. For city dwellers especially, small works of art are often the only plausible solution for limited wall space. But small works can also add a new dimension and character to nooks and other forgotten spots in larger homes as well. To help clients visualize the potential, we've hung the works salon style and we love the results. We hope you will too! You can visit the show Monday - Friday 10:00am-5:30pm and on Saturdays from 11:00am-5:00pm.

Henry Coe Show Opens Friday

Henry Coe, a painter from Baltimore, Maryland, is our featured artist through the end of the year. His current show, "Plein Air Perspective", opens on Friday, November 21 from 5 - 8PM with a wine reception for the artist. The piece shown is one of his newest and it is entitled June in Spring Valley. This piece was done in oils on canvas and measures 42 x 56". Mr. Coe's work evokes a wonderful sense of expanse and pastoral solitude that is unrivaled by his peers. His loose, impressionistic style lends itself to a feeling of rustic charm while still showing his expert execution. Mr. Coe paints on-site throughout the Maryland and Northern Virginia region, Maine, and France.
We hope you can join us at the opening this Friday night to meet with the artist and to view other pieces from this body of work.

TRIBUTE
On June 5 of this year, we hosted a private reception inaugurating our new space and paying tribute to our gallery artists. Many of the artists we work with have shown with the gallery for a number of years- some as many as 30. So we thought it fitting as we took the leap of faith to move locations and change business names, that we keep our artists at the forefront of our mission, hence the exhibit was entitled Tribute. I've attached some images of the party and the exhibit. And if you missed this event, be sure to get on our website and add yourself to our mailing list under the contact tab so you'll be notified about future exhibit openings and special events.
Enjoy the weekend!

Gallery KH, formerly known as Mary Bell Galleries, celebrated the opening of our luxurious new gallery space at 311 W. Superior Street early this Summer. Mary Bell, who founded the esteemed gallery over 32 years ago, has passed the torch on to Lissa Kivisto and Kristen Hagan who serve as the gallery co-directors. Three street facing windows enhance the airy ambiance of the space and create a dramatic presence for the gallery on Superior Street. Gallery KH showcases the work of over two dozen established and emerging artists in the heart of the River North Gallery District.
